Hanjin Tianjin,Hanjin Shipping Co., for Singapore, 6,500 TEU hijacked 250 miles (402 kilometers) east of the Yemeni island of Socotra around 5:15 a.m. today Korea time.
Hanjin Shipping (President & CEO Young Min Kim) is Korea's largest carrier that operates some 60 liner and tramper services around the globe transporting over 100 million tons of cargo annually.
Its fleet consists of some 200 containerships, bulk and LNG carriers. The company is worth KRW 6 trillion and earning KRW 9 trillion annually.
